PC Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Prerequisites:

The student should have a basic knowledge for using a Windows Computer, the keyboard and mouse, basic typing skills, and accessing the Internet.

Description:

A computer, like any technical piece of equipment requires regular maintenance and repairs to keep it running in peak performance and with security. For a computer, this means performing regular maintenance and troubleshooting scans on both the hardware and software components of your computer and ensuring the minimum-security functions are current and monitoring your PC. Windows 10 has many of these maintenance and troubleshooting and security functions available.

Goals:

  • Gain an overview of the Windows 10 built-in Maintenance & Troubleshooting and security functions
  • Learn how to view a chart showing the overall performance of your PC and critical errors that have occurred
  • Learn where to find and how to run the Troubleshooting functions
  • Understand the minimum-security requirements and how to keep them updated and monitoring your PC
