This is a hands-on type class. For this class, we recommend you know how to get online, click on a new Window, and use Google search. Clicking, dragging, and basic Windows operating system skills will be used. You will need a Google Gmail account. If you do not have one, you will need to get one. Send an email to the instructor so she can help you learn how to get one. If you have a gmail account but never accessed Google Photos, you are good to go. Please bring your devices well-charged and with cords, and remember your Google password.
This is a beginning/intermediate class on learning to work with Google Photos for storage and other fun and useful features. We will start with the basics by taking a photo with our phone, uploading it, syncing it and starting our storage on the google cloud site. The storage is free for photos up to 16M, so we have a lot of space to practice.
Learn about a few of the many features of Google photos:
- Navigate your images
- Edit your pictures
- Create albums
- Create movies and stories
- Use the "Assistant" to create collages, animations and stylized photos
- "Google Photos will not use images or videos uploaded onto Google Photos commercially for any promotional purposes, unless we ask for the user's explicit permission." Direct quote from google if you are afraid of the commercialization of your photos.
- Quickly share snapshots from your trove of cellphone pics. Google Photos is a very handy tool and very efficient for uploading, storing and syncing your photos and videos.
