This is hands-on type class. For this class, we recommend you bring your iPad, tablet, Kindle or Nook. If you want to sit and listen, in order to decide if you want to buy a tablet, you are also welcomed.
You must have a library card. Just stop at any library before the first day of class and get a number and password.
This is a beginning class in learning how to borrow eBooks, audio books, and videos for your phones, tablets and computers from a variety of sources, primarily the library, in Austin, Houston, and many central Texas towns such as Georgetown.
To make you more comfortable using your devices to read and borrow books, watch videos and hear audio books. There will be sources for free books as well as audio books. Once downloaded, you will learn how to customize the reading area. There will be a lot of coaches to help you individually to download your first book. We will also answer any questions about length of time to borrow and read, any overdue fines, organizing the books etc.
